What exactly are Grade A pallets?

Grade A pallets are the highest quality pallets available in the recycled pallet market. They are like-new or gently used pallets that show minimal to no signs of wear, with no broken boards, cracks, stains, or repairs. They maintain a uniform appearance and meet the strictest quality standards for sensitive products, retail displays, or export shipping.

How do Grade A pallets differ from Grade B and C pallets?

Grade A pallets represent premium quality with no visible damage or repairs, uniform appearance, and like-new condition. Grade B and C pallets may show varying degrees of wear, repairs, or cosmetic imperfections while still maintaining structural integrity. Describe your application in your quote request and a partner supplier can help you choose the right grade.

Are Grade A pallets new or used?

Grade A pallets are usually gently used pallets in like-new condition, sorted and refurbished by partner suppliers. They look and perform much like new pallets and usually cost less than new.

What sizes are available?

Partner suppliers commonly carry these sizes, and some can build custom sizes:

What is ISPM 15 and are heat-treated Grade A pallets available?

ISPM 15 is the international phytosanitary standard for wood packaging used in export. Heat treatment brings the wood core to 56 °C for 30 minutes, and a certified treatment facility applies the IPPC mark. ISPM 15 heat-treated Grade A pallets are available through partner suppliers; mention export needs in your quote request.

What weight capacity do Grade A pallets support?

Load capacity depends on pallet design, wood species and condition. Confirm the rating for your load with the partner supplier.

What materials are Grade A pallets made from?

Grade A wood pallets are commonly made from hardwoods such as oak or maple, or from softwoods such as spruce and pine. Ask the partner supplier about wood species if it matters for your load.

Can Grade A pallets be used for food shipments?

Grade A pallets in the 48" x 40" GMA size work with standard forklifts and pallet jacks. For automated systems, share your equipment specs in your quote request so a partner supplier can confirm fit.

How much do Grade A pallets cost?

Pricing is by quote from partner suppliers and depends on size, quantity, condition and delivery. Grade A usually costs more than Grade B or C, and recycled Grade A usually costs less than new.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Partner suppliers handle orders from small batches to full truckloads. Include your quantity in your quote request and a partner supplier follows up with availability and pricing.

Is volume pricing available?

Larger orders are often priced differently. Partner suppliers quote based on the quantity and delivery you request.

Can I rent Grade A pallets instead of buying?

Rental availability varies. Mention it in your quote request and we pass it to partner suppliers, some of whom may offer short-term rental.

How does delivery work?

Timing depends on the partner supplier and on availability. After you submit a request, a partner supplier follows up with availability, pricing and pickup or delivery options.

We take requests from Ottawa and Eastern Ontario, including Kanata, Nepean, Orleans, Barrhaven and Gloucester. Availability depends on partner suppliers.

What paperwork comes with the pallets?

Ask the partner supplier what comes with your order. ISPM 15 heat-treated pallets carry the IPPC mark applied by a certified treatment facility; ask the supplier if you need treatment records for customs.

How are pallets inspected and graded?

Partner suppliers typically sort pallets by checking deck boards, stringers or blocks, fasteners and cleanliness. Grade A pallets are the ones with no broken boards, no visible repairs and a uniform appearance.

Is buying recycled Grade A pallets better for the environment?

Reusing a pallet avoids building a new one, and pallets that can no longer be reused can be ground into mulch or fuel by recyclers.

Can I sell or recycle my old pallets?

Yes, through partner suppliers. Submit a request and a partner supplier can arrange pickup. Usable pallets may be bought back, and damaged ones can be recycled.

Can you create custom-sized pallets?

Some partner suppliers build custom pallets for non-standard dimensions, heavier loads or automated systems. Include dimensions and load details in your quote request.

Are special materials or reinforcements available?

Ask in your quote request. Some partner suppliers may be able to add reinforcements or use special materials on custom builds.
